About

CynthiaHopkinsHey there! I’m Cynthia Hopkins, and I’m glad you’re checking out my website. I’ve been blogging for a while now; this is my third one. In fact, you might notice that most of the posts on here were first posted on my previous blog. Anyway, I’ve also written articles, devotions, and Bible study curriculum for about 18 years for LifeWay Christian Resources. I love that! Blogging lets me choose my own topics and word counts, though, so that makes this website my favorite creative outlet and hobby.

Here, you’ll find that I write to three different categories. I try to write a devotional post at the beginning of each week. If blog posts were crops, then these would be my “firstfruits.” List Wednesday is different. Those are strictly humorous posts, because, well, there are a whole lot of things in life that are funny. I figure we can laugh about those things together. You’ll find some parenting posts, as well. My husband and I worked with teenagers for about 20 of our 27 years of marriage, plus we raised two of our own. None of that makes me an expert, but it has given me some insight, experience, and a desire to help and encourage other moms and dads in whatever ways I can.

I hope that you’ll also find that I write with authenticity. That’s really important to me. What that means is that sometimes I may write something that you may disagree with, but that’s okay. If I’m not at least causing us to stop and consider some things along the way, then I should probably stop blogging and take up gardening or latch hook rug-making or something cool like that.

Along with writing, I love to speak at women’s events, youth events, and such. I’ve had a lot of awesome opportunities to do that in some really exotic places, like Hawaii, Uganda, and Odessa, Texas. I wish I could tell you that I sing, too. But that would be a big fat lie. I mean, I do sing, but only in the car and shower and at church when the band is loud enough to drown me out. If you want me to come speak to your group, then you’ll probably want to get someone else to do the singing. A lot of people want me to be funny when I speak at events. And that usually happens, because that’s just how my brain works; but most of all, my aim is to point people to Jesus. If you’d like for me to come speak to your group, you can contact me via e-mail. Or, you can follow me on Twitter or Facebook.

So that’s me in a nutshell. If you are new to my site, you might want to start with some of my most popular posts. Here are three from each category:
